Jet Fuel Talent connects businesses with vetted South African remote professionals. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who may receive it and the choices available to you.
1. Who we are
Jet Fuel Talent is responsible for the personal information described in this notice when we decide how and why it is processed. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to jetfuelrecruit@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Client enquiries
Our client request form may collect a company name, primary contact, email address, phone number, skills required, preferred hours and any information included in the message.
Freelancer applications
Our freelancer form may collect a full name, profile picture, email address, phone number, skills, availability, CV, application message and consent to share relevant contact and professional details with potential clients.
Website and correspondence data
We may receive information when you email us, attend an interview or introductory call, work with us, or interact with essential security and hosting systems. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive personal information through our forms.
3. Why we use personal information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess freelancer applications, conduct vetting, create relevant shortlists, arrange introductions, administer working relationships, process payments, provide support, protect our services and meet legal obligations.
Depending on the circumstances, our basis for processing may be your consent, steps requested before entering an agreement, performance of an agreement, compliance with law, or our legitimate interests in operating a secure talent-matching service. You may withdraw consent at any time, although this does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
4. How information is shared
Freelancer information is shared with a potential client only where it is relevant to a genuine opportunity and consistent with the consent given in the application. Client information may be shared with selected freelancers where necessary to arrange a suitable introduction.
We also use service providers that help us operate the business, including Airtable for form submissions and workflow records, website hosting, email, communications, interviewing, accounting and payment services. These providers may process information only for the services they supply to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to professional advisers, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.
5. International processing
Jet Fuel Talent works across South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Some service providers may store or process information in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate contractual, organisational or legal safeguards for international transfers.
6. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected. The period depends on whether an enquiry remains active, whether a freelancer wishes to remain available for matching, whether a business relationship exists, and whether information must be kept for contractual, accounting, dispute-resolution or legal reasons. Records that are no longer needed are deleted, anonymised or securely archived. You may ask us to review or delete your information at any time.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. South African data subjects have rights under POPIA, and UK data subjects may have rights under the UK GDPR. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may also complain to the relevant supervisory authority, including South Africa's Information Regulator or the UK Information Commissioner's Office, where applicable.
8. Uploaded media
Freelancers may upload a profile picture and CV. Before uploading an image, remove embedded location data such as EXIF GPS information if you do not want that information included in the file. We use uploaded materials for application assessment, profiles and relevant client matching.
9. Cookies, analytics and embedded services
Our website uses essential technologies needed for security and operation. With your permission, we use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to understand website traffic, page usage and hiring journeys. Analytics remains off until you select “Accept analytics”, and advertising storage and personalisation remain disabled. Embedded services such as Airtable and Calendly may use their own security or functional technologies when a form or calendar loads. YouTube content is served using its privacy-enhanced domain. See our Cookie Policy for current details and controls.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Children
Our services are intended for businesses and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect applications from children under 18. Please contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will always appear on this page. Contact jetfuelrecruit@gmail.com or call +27 62 425 3961 with any question or request. Jet Fuel Talent operates from Cape Town, South Africa.
