Transparent vetting

What it takes to become
client-ready.

Our process is designed to identify professionals who can represent themselves—and Jet Fuel Talent—with confidence. Approval is based on evidence, communication and dependable remote-working habits, not a polished CV alone.

01

Application & CV Review

We review your career history, professional experience, specialist skills, availability and the quality of evidence in your CV.

02

Recorded Video Assessment

Shortlisted applicants complete a VideoAsk so we can assess clear communication, professionalism, motivation and remote-working judgement.

03

Live Competency Interview

We explore role-specific experience, results you have delivered, problem-solving, reliability, client communication and culture fit.

04

Approval & Client Matching

Approved professionals enter our vetted network. We reconfirm fit and availability before every personal client introduction.

What we look for

Six areas we assess.

Different roles require different technical evidence, but every approved freelancer is considered across these core areas.

Practical knowledge of the discipline, core tools and the judgement needed to deliver work to an international standard.

04

Communication

Clear written and spoken English, confident explanations, active listening and the ability to ask useful questions.

05

Remote readiness

A dependable workspace, reliable internet, contingency planning, time management and comfort working independently.

06

FAQs

Freelancer questions,
answered.

How do I apply as a freelancer?+

Complete the application form with your details, skills and experience. If you meet our initial criteria, we'll send a VideoAsk assessment, followed by a live interview before approval.

Is there a cost to join?+

No. Joining Jet Fuel Talent is free for freelancers. Our fee comes from the client side, so you are not charged to join the network or be matched.

How and when do I get paid?+

Once your approved work for the month is complete, we handle the client invoicing and process your payment through the agreed monthly cycle.

Do I need to work UK hours?+

South Africa is only one or two hours ahead of the UK, so standard UK business hours can usually be worked with near-complete overlap and no late nights.

Can I work with multiple clients?+

Potentially, depending on your availability and existing commitments. We will work with you to prevent over-commitment.

What happens after I'm approved?+

Your profile enters our vetted talent database. When a suitable request arrives, we contact you first, confirm availability and arrange a three-way introduction if you are interested.

How long does the application process take?+

The application review, VideoAsk and live-interview process typically takes one to two weeks, depending on response times and shortlist availability.

Can I change my available hours after signing up?+

Yes. Availability is not locked in. Tell us when it changes and we will reconfirm your current hours before every client introduction.

What if my available hours aren't listed on the form?+

The form's 1, 2, 4 and 8-hour choices are starting points. Add context in your message and we will confirm your exact availability before presenting you to a client.

Will I be matched without being consulted first?+

Never. We contact you before putting you forward, confirm the opportunity and hours, and make sure you want to proceed.
